As a leader in the North American camping industry, we strive to provide—through our facilities and employees—an exceptional, family-oriented recreational and camping experience

Overnight Camping Rules

  • Check in after 2p.m.
  • Check out before 12 noon.
  • All overnight adults and children are subject to fees.
  • 1 vehicle is included with site fees.  A second vehicle pass may be purchased. Maximum of 2 vehicles per campsite.
  • Ontario Drivers Licence required to drive any battery or gas motor toys or vehicles
  • Speed limit is 15 km/hr
  • Cycling or scootering after dark
    requires head lamp and taillights. 
    Bicycle helmet laws apply on property.
  • Alcohol consumption on campsites only.
  • Pets must always be securely leashed,
    kept quiet and cleaned up after.
  • Not permitted on property :
    – Golf Carts
    – Skateboards or Hoverboards
    – Fireworks or Paper lanterns
    – Marijuana or illegal substances
    – Firearms or weapons
  • All rules for amenity use must be followed.
  • Noise may not disturb neighbours at any time.
  • Parks and playgrounds close at dark
  • Minors under age 18 must be on a supervised campsite after dark.
  • Silence required 11:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
  • Fires extinguished by midnight – no exceptions
  • Lake Huron beach access is located 1.2 km north – beyond Main Street Sauble Beach.

* HST – Harmonized Sales Tax – Federal Tax of 13% on all goods and services
* MAT – Municipal Accommodation Tax – Municipal Tax of 4% on all accommodations of fewer than 28 nights.

Solo adult camping – one child may replace the 2nd adult at no additional charge.
Twins and Triplets pay $3.00 / night flat fee.  We are multiples friendly!

Deposit Requirements:

  • $200.00 / week due within 5 days of booking.
  • This is a non refundable deposit
  • Reservations without a deposit are not valid and will be cancelled.

Cancellation Policies:

  • Cancel 60 days before arrival to qualify for a guest credit of up to 75% deposit
  • Guest credits valid for the current year or next camping year.
  • Guest credits may be reassigned to another camper.  Email us with name, confirmation # and authorization.
  • Guest credits may be used in camp store – food, ice cream, clothing, wood, propane etc.
  • Carson’s Camp does not issue refunds.
  • Reservations are expected by 9:00 pm on the check-in day.  After 9:00 p.m, reservations without arrangements, are forfeited.
  • Be sure to make arrangements if arriving late.
 

Camping Check-in Information:

  • Check in after 2:00 p.m. at the Carson’s Camp office.  West Side of 110 Southampton Parkway.
  • Early arrivals may register but will not have access to campground prior to 2:00 p.m. 
  • Camping reservation balance is due at check-in.   No Refunds.
  • Check-in payments are accepted in cash or debit form only.
  • Carson’s Camp does not accept credit cards.
  • Reservations are accepted in good faith; however, specific site requests depend on previous guests vacating the campsite on time and in good condition, as well as on other circumstances beyond our control.

 

Camping Check-out  Information

  • Check out time is before 12 noon.
  • There is no provision for late check out times.

Camping FAQ

Dogs and cats are welcome at Carson’s, but must be kept on a leash when outside your trailer.

Please keep dogs quiet, especially if they are left while you go walking or to the beach.

Before checking out, clean up all pet droppings from your campsite.

Complimentary WIFI is available in the recreation hall and office area only between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

WIFI can be purchased through a third party supplier at most campsites. Trees and distance affect the signal strength and quality

To keep Carson’s a safe and family-friendly campground, our property is cannabis-free.  Smoking and alcohol are welcome only at your registered campsite.  Public areas are kept smoke- and alcohol-free for everyone’s enjoyment.

Check in at our Office & Store located at 110 Southampton Parkway on the west side of the road.

Camper Check-in time is after 2 p.m.

Rental Check-in time is after 5 p.m.

There is no provisions for early check in times.

Since sites are assigned specifically and we cannot predict the arrival time of the incoming campers,
there is no provision for late check out times.

Late checkouts are not permitted.

2025 Visitors are permitted to campers registered for 11 nights or longer. Adults are $20/night and children are $3/night.

2025 Visitor Vehicles are permitted to campers registered for 11 nights or longer.  $20 /night for 1 visitor car.

Campers with both a towing vehicle and a family vehicle may use our parking area for $5.00 / entry.  Pay in cash at the office. Valid for the duration of your stay.

Campfire wood – $10.00 per 13″ x 13″ bundle available at the camp store.

Carson’s Camp is a family only campground and has strict quiet hours.

11 p.m. is silent time

12 midnight is campfire out time for everyone.

Children may move about campground property between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. They must be supervised at all times and on your campsite between 11p.m. and 8 a.m.

Yard work and machinery may begin after 9 a.m.

Cabanas are 8′ wide and 12′ long and are on wheels so they can be moved to a
campsite of your choosing. $20.00 moving fee.

Cabana’s are a rental accommodation that cost $40.00 / night. (campsite fee + $40)

Cabanas A, B, C and D are the same. The have a double bed along the back,
single bunk beds in the front and a small countertop with a hotel refrigerator and 2 burner cook top.
There are 3 windows for ventilation, a ceiling fan/light and an outside awning.
Tiny trailers – Glorified tents.

Sleeping tents are welcome provided that the maximum number of people on the campsite does not exceed the 5 person campground maximum and provided an adult of age 18 years + must sleep in the tent

Our on site campground store is stocked with essentials like ice, bread, milk, eggs, grocery items and camping supplies. We also have a variety of giftware and campground clothing and of course, chocolate, chips, candy and ice cream treats.

Yes. Carson’s Camp has a refill station that will fill your tank during filling hours.

Traditionally these hours have been 12.:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. – 6:00p.m.

Bring your tank to the refill station, notify and pay in the camp store, return to retrieve.

We have 3 swimming pools and 2 splash parks, each with its own swim times.

All pools and Splash parks:  Hours may be adjusted or pool may be closed for inclement weather and safety i.e. thunder, darkness, and lightning.

Indoor Pool:  (Opens Victoria Day weekend and closes on Thanksgiving Monday at 2:00 p.m.)

Summer hours (July – August)

  • Open:  8:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Adult swim:  8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
  • Closed:  12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.  and  6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

 Spring/Fall hours

  • Open:  9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

 West Outdoor Pool: Open from Canada Day until Labour Day

  • Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Adult swim: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

 East Outdoor Pool: Open from Canada Day until Labour Day

  • Hours: 9:30 a.m. – dark (8:30 p.m. at the latest)
  • Adult swim: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

 Splash Parks (2): Open from Canada Day until Labour Day

  • Open:  10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Campers registered for 8 nights or longer may register visitors for a fee of $20 per adult and $3 per child
Overnight visitors are capped at 5 people for a maximum of 3 nights.
Day visitors are capped at 5 people 

Our indoor pool traditionally opens the Saturday before Victoria Day weekend and closes Thanksgiving Monday at 2p.m.  
Outdoor pools are operated exclusively in July and August when Canadian weather is most agreeable.

Mid season departures are calculated based on :

the number of weekend nights in the off season
the number of weeks or nights in summer
the number of weeks from camp opening day to departure day for premium and equipment fees

Optional plans like additional vehicle and additional family plans are not refundable partially or wholly.

 

Campsite fees are for a Family only.   Grown children and grandchildren must register and are subject to added fees.

Hydro is metered and billed additionally.

One vehicle is permitted / campsite.  Additional vehicles may purchase a plan to be on site or purchase a parking pass for $5.00 / entry or $200.00 / season. 

MPAC assesses and values seasonally parked trailers which they deem to have a degree of permanency.  The values are added to Carson’s tax bill and taxes are remitted on your behalf.  You will be billed annually as recompense.

Carsons Camp offers 500 fully-serviced campsites on a seasonal basis. Many customers have enjoyed holidays with us over our 55 years in operation.

Seasonal fees included:

  • Use of campground property from the first Friday in May 
    until Canadian Thanksgiving Day.
  • Two adults and their children included
  • 1 vehicle. Fee for a second. Maximum 2 vehicles per campsite. (Access sticker is adhered to vehicle exterior)
  • Provincial Drivers Licence required to drive any battery or gas motor toys or vehicles
  • Speed limit is 15 km/hr
  • Cycling after dark requires a proper head and taillights.  Bicycle helmet laws apply on property.
  • Alcohol consumption on campsites only.
